Certification Process for Existing Restaurants

Congratulations, your first step has already been taken! 

Thank you for wanting to be a part of the great sustainable shift in our restaurant industry! The rest of the process is straightforward, beginning with a “Better, Best or Soon to Be” assessment. This assessment will be used to roughly assess where your restaurant may already qualify today within the certification process. 


We’ll ask a series of questions pertaining to: 

1. Sourcing 2. Method 3. Community 

This will help you better understand how your restaurant compares relative to the current US restaurant industry in terms of our scientific, economic and social sustainability criteria set today.


Depending on your results, we’ll provide direction on the best next steps for you: 

  1. If it looks like you’re likely to qualify for certification as you currently operate, we’ll connect you with one of our assessors to schedule a first review and walk you through the full process to complete certification. Once completed, you’ll be set with “in-review” certification status and can earn full certification within as little as 3 months.

  2. If after the assessment it looks like more work is needed to qualify, do not be discouraged because we are still here to help!

    We’ll connect you with one of our industry experts who can set up a consultation with you to figure out the best path forward to earning certification for your restaurant and attracting all of those beautiful, hungry do-gooders in no-time!
